The Beekeeper

Environmental reporter Sara Sneath and I spent this past Sunday afternoon with local beekeeper Craig Chang as he showed us the 11 hives he cares for on his property in Victoria.

Chang is a general surgeon by trade and started beekeeping as a hobby six years ago.

Check out Sara's article here as well as a few of my photos from the assignment below.

Pictorial History of Victoria County Portrait

Victoria resident Harold Johnston, in tandem with his daughter Elizabeth Winn, recently reissued his grandfather Leopold Morris' "Pioneer Cattlemen of Victoria County" poster which features 40 notable ranchers from Victoria County from the 19th and 20th centuries. The poster page was taken from a larger body of work completed by Morris to document the areas surrounding Victoria, Texas. His book, "Pictorial History of Victoria County", featured maps, drawings and photographs and was published in 1947.

Here is a portrait along with a few other snaps from a recent visit with Johnston at his home in Victoria.
